OWYAA Spirit teams have participated for several decades on the football sidelines.

The program offers teams a wide range of opportunity for young athletes at all skill levels: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4.  

OWYAA has established one set of spirit rules along with JAMZ and the original developer of the Youth Cheer and Dance Alliance (YCADA).   

Together with YCADA, we are able to provide online educational courses for its coaches, administrators and judges on team skill levels for Cheer Teams.

With continued education, the OWYAA Coaching Staff provides basic instruction, training and conditioning for both football games and competition.

Teams participate on the sidelines at football games for home and most away games. In addition to Game Day, teams participate in qualifying spirit events (League and Region) through to a National Championship.

The National Cheer Championships are held in December. OWYAA Cheer has been to Florida in 2006, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 for back to back championships.

The 2023 & 2024 Pee Wee cheer teams from Water-Oak won the National Championship!
